Attention deficit /hyperactivity disorder is a mental condition that makes it extremely difficult to concentrate, remain focused, pay attention or sit still. It is characterised by extreme cases of impulsivity and reduced ability to follow directions or instructions. Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder is mostly confused as resulting from poor parenting but this is not true. The condition has no cure but can be managed with drugs and or behaviour modification therapies. It can also co-exist with other conditions such as autism.
